The SSDP is used to provide more information about the source. The RTP header is used and the packet type is set to 202. The first field contains the SSRC or CSRC identifier of the source. Applications are free to put their own items in as well. The canonical name (CNAME) is the most important field in the packet and the other fields may or may not be filled out. Since SSRC identifiers can be duplicated, the RTP protocol provides mechanisms to detect and correct this duplication. Therefore, the CNAME further identifies a source using the format of user@domain-name.
