The slide shows an IPv6 tunneling strategy. IPv6 and IPv4 nodes can peacefully coexist on a network using tunneling. This slide shows an IPv4/IPv6 router that can attach to an IPv4 router. Notice here that IPv4 and IPv6 hosts can exist with the IPv6/IPv4 routers. However, an IPv6-only host cannot make use of the IPv4 router. This is shown on the right side in the middle of the slide. An IPv6 host is situated behind an IPv4 router. These two devices have no method of communicating.
The flowcharts in the following section give full descriptions for examples that can be used with this slide.
